Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air; in case of indisposition

seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water; if irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment; in case of indisposition seek medical

advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides as well as sodium and chlorinated derivatives

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid skin and eye contact. Don't inhale dust. Wear

appropriate personal protective equipment (see "Handling").

Solids: sweep up avoiding formation of dust (wet powders

with water or use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner)

and place in suitable according to TRGS 201 labelled

containers for disposal.

Liquids: absorb using an adequate absorbent (such as

kieselgur, sand, saw dust), collect and place in suitable

according to TRGS 201 labelled containers for disposal.

Dispose of waste material in authorized incineration

facilities.

Handling and storage

Probenahmen sollten geschlossene bzw. zumindest staubdichte

Vorrichtungen verwendet werden. Beim Umgang in offenen

geeignete Schutzkleidung (z.B.:::) getragen werden.

Ein sicherer Augenschutz (z.B. Korbbrille) ist unbedingt

erforderlich. In unmittelbarer Nähe des Arbeitsbereiches

sollten Augenbrausen bereitgestellt und ihr Standort

auffällig gekennzeichnet werden. Bei möglicher

Staubentwicklung sollten wegen der potentiellen

Staubexplosionsgefahr potentielle Zündquellen aus dem

Arbeitsbereich entfernt werden. Des weiteren sollten

Maßnahmen gegen elektrostatische Aufladungen getroffen

werden.

"ENGLISH"

Work processes must always be designed so that the exposure

by inhalation of the substance is as low as possible and eye

contact is excluded. Closed or at least dustproof equipment

should be used during filling, transfer, metered feeding and

sampling. In the cause of handling in open systems, any dust

that may form should be extracted directly at the point of

origin.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection (e.g

.::) should be worn. To avoid skin contact, tested gloves

(e.g. made of PVC or nitrile rubber) and suitable protective

clothing (e.g.:::) should be worn. Safe eye protection (e.g.

tightly fitting goggles) is absolutely essential.

Eye douches should be made available in the immediate

vicinity of the work area and their location conspicuously

labelled. If dust forms, due to the potential risk of a dust

explosion, potential ignition sources should be removed from

the work area. In addition, measures should be taken to

prevent static discharge.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed, according to

the regulations labelled and secure containers in adequate

rooms at room temperature. The containers should be secured

against falling down. Avoid residue outside the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Adequate plastic containers

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Not known

Chemical reaction with water: No dangerous reaction with water.

Dust explosion: Not to be expected if handled under good industrial hygiene

practices.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of ca. 90 %

by irreversible binding to the cellulose fibers; recovery

or recycling of the remaining test substance is not

possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No suitable method known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration with flue gas scrubbing

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment

plant. It is estimated that approx. 10 % of the total

quantity used is discharged into internal industrial

effluents as highly diluted solution. A purification of the

waste water in a waste water treatment plant is recommended.

The dyestuff should be used in a well equiped dyehouse. If

necessary the waste water can be purified prior to the waste

water treatment by membrane filtration or by flocculation

with cationic agents or by treatment with cationic agents or

by treatment with ozone. The most effective method is the

membrane filtration: more than 99 % of the remaining

dyestuff can be removed from the waste water.
