The Log Koc of the major monoconstituent LCA C16 of the multiconstituent substance is 5.15. This value is appropriate to characterize the sorption behavior ot the substance.
Executive summary:

As the determination of a mixture Log Koc value was not possible, the Koc value for the major monoconstituent of the multiconstituent mixture was used, i.e. that for C-16. The corresponding Log Koc is 5.15. This value was obtained from OECD SIDS for SIMA 22 (category long chain alcohols), citing research of Compernolle et al. (2006) for the sorptoin behaviour of C12, 14, 15, 16 and C18 on STP sludges . The OECD SIDS and all information was reviewed by the Global ICCA Aliphatic Alcohols Consortium.  UK government (the Environment Agency of England and Wales, and MRC Institute for Environment and Health) peer-reviewed the SIDS documents, and audited selected key studies to check the robust study summaries. The OECD SIDS states that Compernolle etal. (2006) determined the adsorption behaviour of vaiours long chain alcohols on STP sludges, amongst them the above mentioned C16 LCA. A log Koc value of 5.15 is reported. This value is consistent with the experimentally determined Log Kow for the substance and the resulting Log Koc (calculated via the Di Toro 1985 equation log Koc = 0.00028 + (0.983 x log Kow)) and is hence considered to approriately reflect the sorption behavior of the mixture
