Description of key information

FAT 31064 can be considered as toxic to the aquatic ecosystem with reference to the 96 h EC50 value of 0.507 mg/l from algae study.

Additional information

Aquatic toxicity potential of substance FAT 31064 was evaluated in studies conducted with fish, invertebrates, algae & bacteria by following OECD 203 and OECD 202, OECD 201 test guidelines respectively. The LC50 (96h) of FAT 31064/F in the key fish acute toxicity test was determined to be 3.2 mg/L. FAT 31064/F is considered to be moderately toxic to daphnids when exposed for 48 hours with EC50 value of 4.571 mg/L. The EC 50 values after 72 and 96 hours were 0.893 mg/L and 0.507 mg/L, respectively for green alga Scenedesmus subspicatus exposed to test substance FAT 31064/F. In a key study performed according to OECD test guideline 209 and following GLP toxicity of FAT 31064/F to activated sludge was determined in a 3-hours respiration inhibition test. The IC50 (3 h) of FAT-31064/F was found to be >100 mg/L. Based on the above results, FAT 31064 can be considered as toxic to the aquatic ecosystem with reference to the 96 h EC50 value of 0.507 mg/l from algae study.
