No signs of dermal irritation were seen when the substance was tested in an acute dermal irritation study in rabbits.
No corneal or iridial effects were seen when the substance was tested in an acute ocular irritation study in rabbits, but there was transient minimal to moderate conjunctival irritation.
Justification for classification or non-classification
There were no signs of dermal irritation in the in vivo rabbit dermal irritation study; therefore, no classification for skin corrosion or irritation is required according to CLP.
There were no signs of corneal or iridial effects in the in vivo rabbit ocular irritation study, and the transient minimal to moderate conjunctival effects (average conjunctival redness scores and the average conjunctival oedema scores (mean average of the 24, 48 and 72-hour observation scores) were each less than 2 in each animal) are insufficient for classification as an eye irritant based on the CLP criteria.
Therefore, under CLP, no classification for either skin irritation or eye irritation is required.
