First-aid measures

General information:
When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

After inhalation:
Provide fresh air. If experiencing respiratory symptoms and/or feeling unwell call a physician.

After contact with skin:
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.
If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

After contact with eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids.
Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
If eye irritation persists call an ophthalmologist.

After ingestion:
Rinse mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or a person with cramps.
If feeling unwell immediately call a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray, alcohol resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2) Dry extinguishing powder

Unsuitable extinguishing media:
High power water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Emission of irritating and toxic fumes and gases.
In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon oxides, Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Hydrogen cyanide (hydrocyanic acid), hydrogen fluoride (HF)

Advice for firefighters:
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. (Full protection suit)
Fire class B

Additional information:
Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Use personal protection equipment.
Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust.
Remove all sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil.
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Take up carefully when dry. For larger quantities: Use suitable dust binding material.
Treat the recovered material as prescribed in the section on waste disposal. Provide adequate ventilation. Clean up affected area.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:
When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system. Avoid dust formation.
Do not breathe dust.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Usual measures for fire prevention.

Further information on handling:
Keep container tightly closed.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels:
Keep away from heat.
Protect from sunlight.
Store in a cool dry place. (2-4°C)
Store in a well-ventilated place.

Advice on storage compatibility:
For storage in a common place refer to the respective regulations.
Do not store together with strong oxidising agents.

Specific end use(s):
Use of intermediate

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:
Provide adequate ventilation as well as local exhaustion at critical locations.

Protective and hygiene measures:
When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Take off contaminated clothing.

Eye/face protection:
Wear tightly fitting safety goggles. (DIN EN 166)

Hand protection
Wear suitable gloves. (DIN EN 374)
The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.
Due to missing tests no material recommendation can be given.

Skin protection:
For the protection against direct skin contact, body protective clothing is essential (in addition to the usual working clothes).
Choose suitable personal protection equipment dependent on substance concentration and amount specific for workplace. Chemical resistance should be clarified with the supplier.

Respiratory protection:
Wear respiratory protection mask. Filter P1 (EN143) recommended.
Maintenance, testing and change of the filter cartridges must be performed following the recommendations of the supplier.

Environmental exposure controls:
Avoid release to the environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:
No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.

Chemical stability:
Thermally unstable.

Possibility of hazardous reactions:
In general: For flammable organic substances dust explosion potential is assumed when finely dispersed in air.

Conditions to avoid:
heat
UV-radiation/sunlight

Incompatible materials:
Oxidising agent,
Strong acid

Hazardous decomposition products:
No known hazardous decomposition products.

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal:
Chemicals and packages as waste must be disposed of in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and the respective national and local regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities.
Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.

Contaminated packaging:
Do not contaminate ground- or surface waters via drainage, by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes
Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.
Packing which cannot be properly cleaned must be disposed of.
