Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

87.5% degradation after 28 days, fulfilling 10-day window (OECD 301F, manometric respirometry test). The substance is therefore considered to be readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A manometric respirometry test with Octadec-9-enedioic acid (EC 802-122-7) was conducted by Yanzhen (2015). The study was conducted according to GLP and OECD guideline 301F. Activated sludge was exposed to an initial test item concentration of 21 mg/L and O2-consumption was measured. 61.9% and 87.5% degradation were reached after 5 and 28 days, respectively. Thus, the pass level of >60% degradation within 10 days is fulfilled and the test item is considered to be readily biodegradable.
