Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Vapour pressure [methanol]: 12790 Pa at 20°C (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
310 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A vapour pressure value of 310 Pa at 25°C was obtained using an accepted calculation method. The result is considered to be reliable.

In contact with water, isobutyl(dimethoxy)methylsilane hydrolyses rapidly to produce isobutyl(methyl)silanediol and methanol.

The vapour pressure of isobutyl(dimethoxy)methylsilane is predicted to be 310 Pa at 25°C, based on a measured boiling point of 144°C.

A vapour pressure value of 0.33 Pa at 25°C has been determined for isobutyl(methyl)silanediol using an appropriate estimation method. The result is considered to be reliable.

Methanol has a reported vapour pressure value of 12790 Pa at 20°C (OECD (2004))
