The flammability study is not required for liquids as flammability is assessed on the basis of flash point.
The flammability of the substance in contact air (pyrophoricity) was assessed in accordance with EU Test Method A.13 and in compliance with GLP. Under the conditions of the study, in contact with air, no ignition and no charring of filter paper was observed within the prescribed time in all steps of the study.
There is no indication on the basis of chemical structure and experience in handling and use that the substance is flammable in contact with water.
Therefore, in accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, there is no need to conduct further flammability testing.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance is not classified for flammability according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. This is on the basis of a measured flash point of 119°C. Similarly, the submission substance is not classified for pyrophoricity on the basis of available result using EU Test Method A.13.
