Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The authoritative database form the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (GESTIS database) reports the vapour pressure to be 24 Pa at 20 °C and 195 Pa at 50 °C respectively. In addition in the Handbook of physical-chemical properties and environmental fate for organic chemicals two publications were given. Stull (1974) calculated the vapour pressure to be 42.1 Pa at 20 °C using the Antoine equation. Stephenson & Malanowski (1987) calculated the vapour pressure to be 27.5 Pa at 20 °C using the Antoine equation. All available sources report the boiling point to be in the same range and were therefore regarded as reliable. The vapour pressure of 24 Pa at 20 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment as it was from a direct measurement and therefore regarded as most reliable.
