Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure is < 0.18 Pa at 25 °C (estimation method).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.18 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The value of vapour pressure is estimated based on the study reports for ''Sulfuric acid, mono-C12 -14-alkyl (even numbered) esters, sodium salts'' and ''sodium dodecyl sulphate''.

According to the theoretical principle of Raoult’s law, the vapour pressure of mixture is equal to the mole-fraction-weighted sum of the components' vapour pressures:

ptot= ∑ pixi

The vapour pressure of a composition should be lower than the vapour pressure of the component which has the highest vapour pressure in its pure form. Therefore the upper limit of the vapour pressure is decreased on the basis of the calculated value for "sodium dodecyl sulfate", with respect to the Grain-Watson result for the substance itself, which is likely to be overestimated.
