Study design

Oxygen conditions:
other: aerobic and anaerobic
Inoculum or test system:
natural water / sediment
Details on inoculum:
The tests were carried out in flasks containing 25 g of sediment, 300 ml of sea water and 10 ml of a suspension of decomposing organic
matter in sea water. Three flasks were used in the experiment, one for each of the two products tested, and a third acting as control. The flasks were incubated at 19–22°C with aeration for 28 days (the volume of water was kept constant by adding distilled water during the test). In addition to these, another identical set of three flasks were kept stoppered over the exposure period.
Duration of test (contact time):
28 d
Initial test substance concentration
