Additional information

Taking into account the history of safe use of glucose, fructose, and sucrose, as well as from invert sugar, their role in the physiology of the human bodyand the absence of toxicological effects, it can be concluded that invert sugar is considered to cause minimal risk to the environment. Furthermore consists the substance of a mixture of three constituents that are placed on Annex 4 of the REACH Regulation 1907/2006 EU. This means that sufficient information is known about these constituents and they are considered to cause minimum risk because of their intrinsic properties (art. 2.7.a). This also applies to the mixture of the three constituents (dissolved in water).

Conclusion on classification

As invert sugar is a mixture of three constituents that are placed on Annex 4 of the REACH Regulation 1907/2006 EU, it is not classified as hazardous to the environment either under Directive 67/548/EEC or Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
