Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Result refers to the uncharged molecule.

Endpoint:
hydrolysis
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

Not relevant due to ready biodegradability

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the hydrolysis of Fatty acids, C12-14, methyl esters (CAS No. 308065-15-8) are available. However, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, column 2, testing for hydrolysis is not required since the substance is considered to be readily biodegradable. In addition, results from supporting QSAR estimations calculated for the main individual fatty acid components (C12 and C14)(HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate that hydrolysis is not expected to be a relevant degradation pathway for this substance, with half-lives of 7.3 years (pH 7) and 266 days (pH 8).
