Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two studies conducted according to OECD 202 guideline are available on the acute toxicity to Daphnia for hydrocarbons, C7-C9, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics (Shell 1995, 2000). The acute toxicity, as measured by immobilisation to Daphnia, was evaluated in freshwater by using water accomodated fractions (WAFs). Under the conditions of these studies, the test substance, hydrocarbons, C7-C9, n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, produced acute toxicity to Daphnia at 4.6 -10 mg/L (Shell 1995) and 7.4 mg/L (Shell 2000) based on nominal loadings of the test substance in water. A EL0 was determined to be 10 mg/L (Shell 1995).
