Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Reliable data obtained via a scientifically acceptable calculation method. Henry's Law constant of 3,7-dimethyl-6-octenal was calculated using EPIWIN v3.12, HENRYWIN v3.10. The calculation yielded values of 6.79 x 10E-4 atm x m³/mol (68.78 Pa x m³/mol; bond method) and 2.62 x 10E-4 atm x m³/mol (26.54 Pa x m³/mol; group method). The calculation of Henry's Law constant according to the equation H=vp/ws and using the EPIWIN estimates for water solubility and vapor pressure yielded a Henry's Law constant of 1.324 x 10E-3 atm x m³/mol (134.12 Pa x m³/mol). Based on the results, 3,7 -dimethyl-6 -octenal can be considered as moderately to highly volatile from aqueous solution.
