Additional information

Methyl Isopropyl Ketone (MIPK) was determined to be readily biodegradable by an OECD Guideline 301 D (Closed Bottle Test) conducted under GLP conditions. 77.2% degradation of the test substance was observed on day 7 and 85% degradation was observed by test day 28 thereby meeting the defined criteria. As the substance is readily biodegradable and showed a high degree of rapid and ultimate biodegradation, further simulation testing in surface water is not proposed. Based upon ready biodegradability and a low potential for sorption to soils or sediments based upon Koc values, further simulation testing in those media are not proposed as well.
