Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and seek medical attention. In all

cases remove any contaminated clothing.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If

irritation persists seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, carbon dioxide,

dry chemical or foam are suitable.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Products of combustion may

contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur together with

some soot and hydrogen chloride gas.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Skin, eye and respiratory protection

are recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective equipment, see 2.1.1. Vacuum up

spilt material and transfer to a suitable labelled waste

container. Wash down the spill site with water and a

detergent. Avoid dry sweeping.

Handling and storage

Handling: An anti-dust forming agent is added to the substance to

avoid high levels of dust being raised. Local exhaust

ventilation should be used. An activated carbon filter dust

mask, rubber gloves and safety glasses with side shields

should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed, unbreakable containers away from

heat and direct sunlight.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal at authorised facility equipped with waste gas

treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides and hydrogen

chloride is recommended. A temperature of 900 deg C with a

residence time of 10 minutes should be used.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water from the dyeing process should be treated by

procedures such as coagulation, sedimentation, biological

treatment and absorption by activated carbon etc. The

obtained sludge should  be incinerated after filtration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in articles

which may be disposed of as domestic waste.
