Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest.

Obtain medical attention if ill effects occur.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,

holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes.

Obtain immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing.

Wash skin immediately with water.

Obtain immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder, CO2

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus andsuitable protective

clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

Absorb spillages onto sand or any suitable absorbent

material.

Transfer to a container for disposal.

Wash the spillage area with water.

Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must

be alerted to the appropriate regulatory body.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of mists.

Wear eye/face protection and suitable gloves.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed at temperatures from 10 to

30°C.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 80% preparation: 200 l mild steel drums

oxidising agents

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Any out of specification hydraulic oil blends can be

reblended at a 10% treat rate.

Greater than 50% of waste hydraulic fluids from professional

users are recycled through either refining (via activated

clay) or used as a fuel for cement kiln firing (with

temperatures in excess of 1000°C).

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Dilution with compatible fluids, or retention on absorptive

media.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended for the 80% preparation.  Controlled

incineration of hydraulic fluids possible in kiln firing

(with temperatures in excess of 1000°C). Flue gases should

be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recomended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Landfill of small quantities is possible in accordance with

national legislation.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the test substance is not used by the

public at large.
