Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Eye injury in rabbits is recorded in a 10-grade ordinal series and is based upon the degree of corneal necrosis that results from instillation of various volumes and concentration of chemicals. Grade 1 corresponds to the least effect and grade 10 corresponds to the most serious damage.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (irreversible effects on the eye)
Remarks:
Migrated information Criteria used for interpretation of results: EU
Conclusions:
Score of the eye damage/irritation based upon corneal necrosis of rabbits is 9. This means that this substance gives severe damange on eyes.
Thus we classified category 1 for eye damage/iriitation.
