Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

General Information

Name:
Crude oil (petroleum) with recycled naphtha, distilled, cracked, hydrotreated and hydrodesulfurized
Implementation:
other: EU harmonized classification for natural crude oil, modified with measured data on this substance
Remarks:
The composition of the substance is variable. The flash point, initial boiling point and viscosity, which determine the flammability and aspiration hazard, are also variable. Classification as flammable liquid may be modified if it can be shown that the flash point and initial boiling point meet the criteria for an alternative classification. Classification for aspiration hazard need not apply if it can be shown that the viscosity is higher than 20.5 mm2/s at 40°C.
Classification for carcinogenicity and specific target organ toxicity are read across from natural crude oil.
The ‘Safety net’ classification for aquatic toxicity, Category Chronic 4, is applied according to CLP Annex I §4.1.2.4. The bulk substance is poorly water soluble, exhibits no acute toxicity to invertebrates or algae at loading rate of 100 mg/L water accommodated fraction (WAF), is not rapidly degradable, and has a log Kow ≥ 4.
