First-aid measures

General advice: Remove contaminated clothing.
If inhaled: Fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.
On skin contact: Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15 - 20 minutes. Seek medical attention.
On contact with eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Immediate medical attention required.
On ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water, seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, carbon dioxide, dry extinguishing media, foam
Specific hazards: toxic fumes
Special protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation. Use breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dust/aerosol.

Environmental precautions:
Do not empty into drains. Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
For small amounts: Pick up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth etc.). Place into suitable container for disposal.
For large amounts: Pick up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth etc.). Place absorbed material in the same container as the spilled substance/product for disposal. Collect waste in suitable containers, which can be labeled and sealed.

Handling and storage

Handling
Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy.

Storage
Segregate from foodstuffs. Segregate from oxidants.
Further information on storage conditions: Containers should be stored tightly sealed in a dry place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:
Particle filter with medium efficiency for solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2)

Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)
Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374): nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness
Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Eye protection:
Tightly fitting safety goggles (splash goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

Body protection:
Body protection must be chosen depending on activity and possible exposure, e.g. apron, protecting boots, chemical-protection suit (according to EN 14605 in case of splashes or EN ISO 13982 in case of dust).

General safety and hygiene measures:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Stability and reactivity

Substances to avoid:
oxidizing agents
nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides

Disposal considerations

Observe national and local legal requirements.
