Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information: Remove affected person from source of contamination. Treat symptomatically.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and keep patient at rest. Seek medical attention immediately.

Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting - seek medical advice.

Skin contact: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water for several minutes. Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing.

Eye contact: Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids widely. If irritation persists: Seek medical attention and bring along these instructions.

Protection of first aiders: First aid personnel should wear appropriate protective equipment during any rescue.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Alcohol resistant foam but, if not available, normal foam can be used. Contain spillage.

Hazardous combustion products: Oxides of carbon.

Protective actions during firefighting: Control run-off water by containing and keeping it out of sewers and watercourses.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self contained breathing apparatus and fire kit.

Accidental release measures

Personal protection:

Eye/face protection: Use approved safety goggles or glasses. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).

Hand protection: Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product.

Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the

specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.

Other skin and body protection: Protective overalls.

Respiratory protection:  Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains or watercourses or onto the ground.

Methods for cleaning up: Eliminate all sources of ignition. Contain spillage, absorb onto an inert material (e.g. sand, vermiculite). Take up mechanically (e.g. sweep up) into suitable containers, and dispose of as hazardous waste.

Handling and storage

Usage precautions: Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes.

Advice on general occupational hygiene: Good personal hygiene procedures should be implemented.

Storage precautions: Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated place.
