Justification for classification or non-classification

A repeated dose study is not required for this 1-10 tonnage band registration. However, consideration of the hazard classification was carried out since the test item contains phenol as an impurity (that has a harmonised classification of STOT-RE Cat. 2 for this hazard).

For the consideration of mixtures or impurities that may impact CLP, according to CLP principles, the generic concentration limit which would trigger classification of a mixture for the hazard STOT RE 2 is >10 %.

Hence, since phenol is present in the test item at < 10 % (actual 0 -5 %), the test item is NOT classified for STOT-RE.
