As the particle size distribution for iron stearate sample was broad and beyond laser measurement’s range, different sieve mesh sizes were used. 50.0 grams of material were weighted usingtop loading balanceinto a 16 oz paper cup. Then the contents were carefully transferred into the stack of sieves including sieve #4, #8, #50 and 100 mesh fitted with a collection pan. Sieve shaker was used for 10 min. Retained percentage was calculated as follows:

Conclusions:
The sieve test showed that iron stearate is a coarse powder with 68.6% being retained by a 300 µm sieve.
