Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
7.5
Temp.:
35 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
not measured/tested
Remarks:
extrapolated value after re-evaluation (see attached report: "Estimation of the bioconcentration factor of Sakuralube S-600").
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 7.2
Temp.:
35 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: note: the temperature refers to the column temperature
Details on results:
In the chromatogram of the test item solution, two peaks with a retention time of 22.4 and 22.8 minutes were observed. Under the same analytical conditions, the retention time of benzo[ghi]perylene (log Pow = 7.2) was 18.1 minutes. Thus, it was concluded that the log Pow of test item was > 7.2.
For details see attached document "S-600 - Log Pow.pdf"

In a re-evaluation in December 2021, the log Pow value was accurately determined by extrapolation. Herefore, in accordance with the OECD 117 guideline, a linear correlation between the log of the capacity factor and the log Pow was assumed. For more details on the extrapolation see section “Discussion of the HPLC determination” in the attached report “Extrapolation of the bioconcentration factor Sakuralube S-600”.
Conclusions:
The extrapolated log Pow value of 7.5 was used for further assessment.

Description of key information

Extrapolated Log Pow = 7.5 at 35°C (column temperature, HPLC method) (OECD 117, EU A.24, OPPTS 830.7570)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
7.5
at the temperature of:
35 °C

Additional information

Log Kow (Log Pow) > 7.2 at the temperature of 35°C (column temperature)

Re-Evaluation 2021: Extrapolation of Log Kow = 7.5 (see attached report: "Estimation of the bioconcentration factor of Sakuralube S-600")
