Two independent measurements at 20.3°C (assay No. 1) and 20°C (assay No. 2) were done. Runs 1, 2 and 3 of assay No. 1 and run 1 of assay No. 2 were not taken into account because they did not comply with the quality criterion.

The two assays resulted in relative densities of 5.345 ± 0.004 and 5.335 ± 0.003, respectively. The mean relative density was thus 5.340 ± 0.006 at 20.2°C.

Reference volume (Va) was 79.444 cm³.

Volume of sample cell holder (Vc) was 27.678 cm³.

Test item sample weight was 3.9427 g and 4.1042 g in assay No. 1 and 2, respectively.

The measurements are described in the table in the next section.

Conclusions:
The relative density of the reaction mass of cerium dioxide, praseodymium oxide and zirconium dioxide was determined according to the EU A.3 guideline and OECD guideline 109 in compliance with GLP using a gas comparison pycnometer. The relative density of the test item was determined to be 5.340 ± 0.006 at 20.2°C.

Description of key information

In a GLP-compliant guideline study (Demangel, 2018; Klimisch 1) within which the relative density of the reaction mass of cerium dioxide, praseodymium oxide and zirconium dioxide was determined according to the EU A.3 method and OECD guideline 109, the relative density of the test item was determined to be 5.340 ± 0.006 at 20.2°C using a gas comparison pycnometer.
