Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
The data contained in the report has been generated in a laboratory holding a current statement of GLP compliance, issued by the UK GLP Monitoring Authority, MHRA, but not as part of a formal GLP study.
Type of method:
method to determine freezing temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
<= -20 °C
Conclusions:
The results of the preliminary test showed the test item freezes below -20 °C and therefore no further analysis is required.
Executive summary:

The freezing point of Vinyl Chloroacetate was determined in a study according to the OECD Testing Guideline 102. A preliminary test was performed by placing small amounts of the test substance under controlled cooled conditions (4°C, -20°C and -80°C) for 24 hours. A visual assessment was then carried out to determine whether a full assessment was required and the temperatures of interest. The results of the preliminary test showed the test item freezes below -20 °C. Therefore no further analysis is required, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VII which states that the study does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20°C.
