For dry matter of filter cake from enzyme fermentation, consisting of fungal biomass and inorganic filtration aid flammability is derived from a test with Vinasses, residue of fermentation containing Corynebacterium glutamicum (EU Method A.10). Since Vinasses, residue of fermnetation containing Corynebacterium glutamicum is very similar in composition, flammability is as well very similar.
Pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The dry matter of this substance is not classified as flammable solid according to CLP since in a test with Vinasses, residue of fermentation containing biomass of Corynebacterium glutamicum according to EU Method A.10 no propagation of combustion was observed.
Based on experience in handling and use and on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and emission of flammable gases in contact with water are not expected.Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number.
