Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxic effects of the read across substance (CAS 83968-15-4) on the growth rate of Pseudomonas putida were determined in a study (BASF 1/90/0937/71/1, 1990) according to DIN 38412, Part 27 (Draft 1989) after short-term exposure of 30 min. After 30 minutes the EC50 of the surrogate test substance (CAS 83968-15-4) was determined to be 48 mg/L and the EC10 was determined to be 7 mg/L. All values refer to nominal concentration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
48 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
7 mg/L

Additional information

Supporting read-across study (BASF 1/90/0937/71/1, 1990)

The toxic effects of the read across substance (CAS 83968-15-4) on the growth rate of Pseudomonas putida were determined in a study (BASF AG, 1990) according to DIN 38412, Part 27 (Draft 1989) after short-term exposure of 30 min. The test was performed in nominal concentrations of 0 (control) 3.90, 7.81, 15.62, 31.25, 62.5, 125, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg/L. No concentrations were measured. The test strain used of Pseudomonas putida came from die “Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen” in Goettingen, Germany. After 30 minutes the EC50 of the read across substance (CAS 83968-15-4) was determined to be 48 mg/L and the EC10 was determined to be 7 mg/L. All values refer to nominal concentration.
