Aquatic toxicity

Two acute experimental studies and three QSAR predictions are available to assess the aquatic toxicity of the registered substance.

The experimental studies were not considered reliable due to major methodological deficiencies and/or insufficient information provided on the methodology used. Therefore, QSAR predictions were performed using iSafeRat® High-Accuracy-Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (KREATIS, 2019). Toxic effects were predicted on the three aquatic trophic levels (aquatic invertebrates, algae, fish) in acute conditions.

For algae, the 72h-ErC50 value was predicted at 0.43 mg/L. For daphnid, the 48h-EC50 value was predicted at 1.2 mg/L; and for fish, the 96h-LC50 value was predicted at 1.9 mg/L.

Environmental fate and pathways

The registered substance is readily biodegradable (75% biodegradation after 28 days, within the 14-d window based on the OECD 301D key study) and therefore is not persistent in the environment. In addition, with a log Kow value determined experimentally at 3.87, the substance is not considered to be bioaccumulative according to CLP (<4.0) and PBT criteria (<4.5).

Conclusion on classification

No harmonised classification is available.

Data available:

- Lowest E(L)C50 value < 1 mg/L (for algae), more precisely between 0.1 and 1 mg/L (M-factor = 1);

- Rapidly degradable;

- log Kow < 4.
