Description of key information
Alga
3 test with alga showed no effects at the limit of water solubility
Fish, acute
Two tests were carried out:
Zebrafish
The saturated solution of the test item didn´t show any signs of toxicity nor lethality at all observation time points up to 96 hours. Therefore, the NOEC and LC0 were laid down as >= 100 mg/lL (based on the nominal concentration) and LC100 was laid down as > 100 mg/L (based on the nominal concentration).
Rainbow trout
At the solubility of the substance in water (<0.1 mg/l) no mortality was observed in any of the fish. As no higher concentration in water is possible and the LC50(24), LC50(48), LC50(72) and LC50(96) are >0.1 mg/l the substance do not have acute toxicity to fish.
Daphnia
At the solubility of the substance in water (<0.1 mg/l) no immobilisation was observed in any of the daphnia. As no higher concentration in water is possible and the EC50(24) and EC50(48) are >0.1 mg/l the substance do not have acute toxicity to daphnia.
Bacteria
A Respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge according to OECD Guideline No. 209 was performed with the test item. The test was performed under static conditions with the nominal limit concentration of 1000 mg/L. The respiration rates of control, reference and test item concentrations were measured after a contact time of three hours, and the inhibitory effects of the test and reference concentrations were determined in comparison to the control respiration rates. No inhibition of the test item was observed at the tested concentration.
Daphnia reproduction test
Two semi-static daphnia reproduction tests were carried out. No effects up to the solubility limit of the substance were found.
