Description of key information
The flash point of 1,1-dimethylheptanethiol is expected to fall in the range of 70 to 128°C based on read across from octane-1-thiol (70°C), dodecane-1-thiol (128°C) and tert-dodecanethiol (95°C).

The flash point of 1,1-dimethylheptanethiol has been read across from octane-1-thiol, dodecane-1-thiol and tert-dodecanethiol. The flash points for all of these substances were determined in closed-cup equilibrium studies following EC method A9 (Atwal 2012, Harlan 2012 and Tremain 2010 respectively). All studies are considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint.
