Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Mean DPM/animal values for the experimental groups treated with test substance concentrations 10, 25 and 50% were 1190, 1050 and 802 DPM, respectively. The mean DPM/animal value for the vehicle control group was 671 DPM. The SI values calculated for the substance concentrations 10, 25 and 50% were 1.8, 1.6 and 1.2, respectively.

Since there was no indication that the test substance elicited a SI ≥ 3 when tested up to 50%, C. I. Pigment Violet 55 was not considered to be a skin sensitizer Mean DPM/animal values for the experimental groups treated with test substance concentrations 10, 25 and 50% were 1190, 1050 and 802 DPM, respectively. Migrated from Short description of key information:
The in vivo LLNA study was performed according to OECD Guideline 429 and GLP principles.

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:
One key study is available as well as a supporting study.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above results, the test substance should not be classified as a skin sensitizer according to Regulation EC 1272/2008.
