Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The KOWWIN QSAR model has been used to determine the octanol/water partition coefficient. The model generated a value of -1.19 but warned that the substance is outside the validation domain but the value. Nevertheless, in absence of more relevant data, the log Kow of -1.19 is used as a key value.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
-1.19

Additional information

In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VII, information requirement section 7.8, this study is not needed for inorganic substances. Moreover, according to Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VII, information requirement section 7.8 and section 2 of annex XI of the REACH regulation, the test cannot be performed for substances that decompose. The substance is a 1% aqueous solution of inorganic substance and decomposes at ambient temperature, therefore the test does not need to be performed.

A log Kow value is mandatory for the risk assessment. This is why the KOWWIN QSAR model has been used to determine the octanol/water partition coefficient. The model generated a value of -1.19 but warned that the substance is outside the validation domain. Nevertheless, in absence of more relevant data, the log Kow of -1.19 is used as a key value.
