Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a GLP study in accordance with EC test method A.4, the vapour pressure of cerium tetranitrate was determined to be 4.9x10E-4 Pa at 20°C, applying the vapour pressure balance method (Knudsen cell effusion method) (Ferron, 2012).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure at 20°C was determined by extrapolation from a vapour pressure curve over a limited temperature range (55 to 65°C). Furthermore, the substance had to be tested in its solvent (i.e. water), as it cannot be obtained without it, and presents a boiling point in the range of the maximum temperature applied for the vapour pressure curve. For these reasons the test result should thus be treated as indicative.
