Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air. Treat symptomatically.

Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water. Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for adjacent fire.

Hazchem code 2Z

Fire or excessive heat may produce hazardous decomposition

products.

Powered material may form explosive dust-air mixtures.

Product arising from burning: Hazardous decomposition products include oxides of nitrogen

and oxides of sulphur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Hazchem code 2Z

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put in a suitable container. Avoid generating

dust. Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual

contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust. Avoid contact

with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Use

with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep from contact with

oxidizing material. Store at cool condition (5 - 30 degrees

C). Keep container closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be imported into the Kodak Limited plant

site as itself in sealed, polylined fiber containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None

Chemical reaction with water: Experience in use and structure activity relationships

indicate that the test substance is not hazardous in contact

with water or humid air.

Dust explosion: There are no data or experience indicating this material

presents a dust explosion hazard; however no testing has

been conducted to characterize its dust explosibility

properties. Fines of this substance, like those of many

organic dusts, may be capable of forming explosive dust

clouds in air. Minimize dust generation and accumulation.

Keep away from sources of ignition. Use adequate

ventilation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substance. Combustion will produce oxides of

nitrogen and oxides of sulphur. Stack gases must be

scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Computer model (SIMPLETREAT) program predicts 0% of the

subject chemical will be removed in water purification

plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be

sufficient. Combustion will produce oxides of nitrogen and

oxides of sulphur.
