First-aid measures

Skin contact: Wash with soap and water
Eye contact: Flush with copious quantities of water for 10mins. Seek medical advice.

The material is non flammable and will not support combustion. It will not decompose or otherwise cause disruptive reactions even under severe fire conditions.

Accidental release measures

The material is extremely inert chemically. It does not react with most common solvent, acids or alkalis. It will not decompose or otherwise cause disruptive reactions in contact with a wide range of chemicals.

Handling and storage

None generally required. Broken solid pieces may have sharp edges and care should be taken to avoid minor cuts. Wear light gloves. Dust masks and goggles should be worn when handling powder in areas with inadequate ventilation. Care should be taken when machining and grinding the solid Ebonex material that any respirable dust which may be formed during this operation is adequately controlled.
