Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

When heating the substance, a wide endotherm, ranging from 40 tocan be observed, followed by a markedly smaller endotherm ranging from 165 to. The first one is likely to correspond to components more volatile than water, to water itself (possibly affected by its salt and HMTBA content, it may boil and evaporate aboveat ambient pressure).

Also, a less energy-intensive endotherm can be observed between 165 and 210°C. This could correspond to non-esterified HMTBA.

The observation of several temperature ranges corresponding to distinct endothermic events between 40 and 210°C justify that the boiling point of HMTBA be evaluated by means of a QSAR.

The boiling temperature of HMTBA was predicted by QSAR EPIWIN to be 290°C.
