Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Only one study on fish is currently available for the aquatic toxicity assessment of the test substance. Due to the test compounds structural similarities and alike physico-chemical properties compared to ethylene urea (CAS 120-93-4), which has only one additional carbon-atom in the cyclic part of the molecule, ethylene urea can be considered as an structural analogue adequate for read-across (SMILES code for ethylene urea: O=C(NCC1)N1; SMILES code for propylene urea: O=C1NCCCN1).

The EC0 value of the read-across substance ethylene urea in Daphnia magna was determined to be 100 mg/L in a guideline study according to EU method C2 (BASF AG, 1/91/0224/50/1, 1990). This result is supported by the outcome of a publication which was published in 1985 (Van Leeuwen 1985).

Based on these data, the test substance is considered with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates as well.
