Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Screening-level data indicate the potential for persistence of the test substance, based on lack of demonstrated biodegradability in a ready biodegradability assay.

Screening-level data indicate the potential for bioaccumulation exhibited by the test substance, based on an experimentally-determined octanol-water partitioning coefficient (Kow) of log Kow = 5.14, which exceeds the screening criterion (log Kow ≤ 4.5) for both “not B” and “not vB”. However, QSAR modeling indicates that none of the major components of the UVCB (i.e., any component constituting 1% or more of the total peak area as determined by chromatographic separation) exhibits the property of being bio-accumulative or very bio-accumulative.

Screening-level data indicate that the test substance is not toxic. The determinations that HK-128 is “not CMR” and “not STOT RE” are definitive determinations of “not T” with respect to human health endpoints. The short-term screening-level data for aquatic toxicity indicate that the substance is “not T”, although this is not a definitive determination.

In summary, the test substance is not a PBT (presumably “P”, not “B”, not “T”). The substance is not vPvB (not “vP”, not “vB”).
