First-aid measures

DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID MEASURES

- General advice: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, face protection, respirator, protective boots, etc.

- If inhaled: if you feel unwell, remove to fresh air immediately. Get medical attention if cough or other symptoms develop.

- In case of skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Flush skin with large amounts of water, clean off with soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

- In case of eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for several minutes. Part eyelids with fingers to assure complete flushing. Check for and remove contact lenses if easily possible. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

- If swallowed: Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Get medical attention immediately.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

- Suitable extinguishing media: Water jet, Water mist, Foam, Dry chemical, Carbon dioxide, Dry sand

- Unsuitable extinguishing media: none

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE AND MIXTURE

- Specific hazards during firefighting: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions

- Hazardous combustion products: Ammonia, Nitrogen oxides

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

- Special protective equipment for firefighters: Respiratory and eye protection required for fire-fighting personnel. Full protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus(SCBA) should be used for all indoor fires and any significant outdoor fires.

- Further information: This product is non-flammable (flame-resistant) but if there is a fire nearby, take the following measures. Remove all sources of ignition. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel away. Remove containers to safe place if possible. Fight fire from an upwind position. Keep surrounding areas cool by spraying water

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

- Personal precautions: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, face protection, respirator, protective boots, etc. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel away. Keep upwind, evacuate downwind. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Evacuate immediate area.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

- Environmental precautions: Do not flush into sewer, river, or any body of water.

METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

- Methods for cleaning up: Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and transfer to sealable containers. Large spills : Dike far ahead of liquid spill for later disposal. Stop leak if possible without personal risk. If a non-aqueous product is leaked into the water, use appropriate absorbent material to collect the product.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

- Technical measures: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Provide hand and eye wash station near work area. Wash thoroughly after handling.

- Advice on safe handling: Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Prevent leak and spill. Avoid vapour formation. Do not fall, drop, shock or drag the container. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid inhalation and ingestion.

- Hygiene measures: Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INLCUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES

- Conditions for safe storage: Keep away from direct sunlight. Store in a freezer (<= -25 °C). The floor must be protected from water and impermeable. Install appropriate facilities for lighting/ventilating

- Materials to avoid: no data available

- Avoidance of contact: Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in a segregated and approved area.

- Suitable container and packaging materials for safe storage: Store in a closed freezing container (<= -25 °C). Plastics (high density polyethylene / low density polyethylene blend), Glass, Metals.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS

- Occupational exposure limits: Not established.

- Biological occupational exposure limits: Not established.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS

- Technical measures and the application of suitable work processes have priority over personal protection equipment.

ENGINEERING MEASURES

- Provide safety shower and eye wash station near work area. Provide general or local exhaust ventilation as necessary.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

- Eye protection: Safety glasses with side shields conforming to EN166

- Hand protection: Use suitable protective gloves resistant to chemicals and micro-organisms in accordance with EN374. Please observe with instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.

- Skin and body protection: Wear full chemical protective clothing.

- Respiratory protection: If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, suitable respiratory protection must be worn. The main exposure route is presumably via the inhalation of particles after evaporation of the solvent, so a full mask with particle filter (P3) is recommended. Maximum allowable wearing time depends on the maximum concentration. Please observe the instructions which are provided by the supplier.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS

- General advice: Do not flush into sewer, river or any body of water
