Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
Remarks:
The performance of the main test was not necessary, as the test item melted and could not be ignited.

Preliminary test

The test item was present in the sample bottle as a large lump. The melting point of the test item was determined to be 44.9 °C (according to OECD102 guideline). In order to obtain a sufficient amount of test item from the sample bottle, the latter was placed in the drying oven at 65 °C. The molten test item was carefully poured into the metal mould. After the re-solidification of the molten test item the plate was placed on top of the mould, the apparatus was inverted, and the mould was removed. Afterwards, it was tried to ignite the test item with the hot flame starting at one end of the pile. The test item could not be ignited with a flame (ignition time 2 min). The test item melted.

The performance of the main test was not necessary.

Conclusions:
The test item melted and could not be ignited.
Executive summary:

The test item melted and could not be ignited. Therefore, performance of the main test was not necessary.
