Description of key information

Mice exposed to saturated vapour concentrations of deoderised kerosine, or aerosol concentrations up to 6900 mg/m3 showed no effects on respiratory rate using the Alarie method. It was concluded the material was not a sensory irritant to the respiratory tract.

Additional information

Data on related substances have been used to 'read-across' and predict the hazard properties. A 'read-across' justification document can be found in section 13.

The potential of deoderised kerosine to cause sensory irritation to the respiratory tract was investigated in the mouse using the Alarie method. Exposure to saturated vapour concentrations or upto 6900 mg/m3 aerosol did not impact on respiratory rate and it was concluded that the material was not irritant to the respiratory tract.
