Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Evacuate victim to fresh air and let him blow his nose. If

necessary, perform artificial respiration or administer

oxygen and immediately seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with pleanty of water for at least 15

minutes and immediately seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately flush skin with water and soap. If the

irritation persits, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Immediately seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, powder, foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide. No

adverse reaction with normal extinguishing agents is known.

Product arising from burning: Gaseous hydrogen fluoride (HF), phosphorous- and fluorine-

derived volatile compounds, carbon oxides.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective equipment should be worn, including self

contained breathing apparatus, suitable gloves, goggles and

face protection.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: The affected area will be fenced or cordoned off and

individuals will not be allowed to touch or walk through the

spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective

clothing. Dust generation and uncontrolled discharge on the

ground will be avoided. Keep away any possible source of

ignition.

Suitable protective clothing will include gloves and

eye/face protection. As a minimum this will include: tightly

fitting safety goggles, long sleeves clothing, rubber or

PVC gloves, dust mask (EN 141). Depending upon the nature of

the spill (quantity and extent of spill), additional

protective clothing and equipment such as self-contained

breathing apparatus may be needed.

Spills solids will be collected with a contained vacuum unit

or will be moistened and picked-up so as to minimise dust

generation. The substance will be placed in a suitable

properly labelled container for recovery or disposal.

The cleaning will be finished by washing thoroughly with

detergent and water that will be disposed of according to

local and national requirements.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under

conditions of good industrial hygiene, and in conformity

with any local regulations in order to avoid exposure to the

extent technically feasible. Engineering controls in the

form of local exhaust ventilation and/or closed system

charging are recommended at the reactor. When engineering

controls are not sufficient to control dust exposure,

approved respiratory protection will be worn. For

manufacturing areas, skin protection will be provided in the

form of overalls, or full air suits along with rubber

gloves. Rubber, neoprene or other gloves may be required if

solvents, corrosives or other chemicals are present. Gloves

will be changed regularly and removed after overt

contamination. Chemical safety eye protection will be worn

if a full-face respirator is not worn.

Storage: Storage will be in well closed containers, at room

temperature, avoiding heat, sources of ignition and

combustible material. Avoid contact with strong bases,

alkaline hydroxides, metals.

Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited. Access is only

to authorised personnel, appropriately gowned and conforming

to local SOPs. Work clothing is not worn outside facility.

All staff are appropriately trained in safe working

procedures and provided with information on materials and

processes.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Double polyethylene bags into fibre drums.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Keep away from heat, sources of ignition and combustible

materials. Avoid contact with strong bases, alkaline

hydroxides, metals.

Chemical reaction with water: There is not considered to be any adverse reaction with wate

r.

Dust explosion: The product is not explosive.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Trace

quantities are treated within wastewater treatment plants.

Recovery of larger spillages of uncontaminated material for

subsequent use is recommended. As substance is used in the

process, no recycling of material is possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of neutralization is known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Trace quantities are destroyd through biological oxidation

in wastewater treatment plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is recommended for larger quantities. A closed-

cycle incinerator with scrubbers should be employed.

National and local regulations must be observed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharge directly to

the sewage system or aqueous environment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance will not enter the public domain.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will not enter the public domain.
