Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Justification for type of information:
The material sublimes at 224C and showed no flammable behaviour during the DSC ramped heating cycle. The DSC that determined the sublimation point showed no issues of raising the temperature of the sample to the sublimation point of 224C. There was no weight loss or change in chemisry during the heat-up cycle for the DSC/TGA analysis. Only near 224C does the sample start losing weight indicating sublimation (coinciding with an endothermic heat flow). If the heat loss was down to decomposition/burining then there would have been an exothermic heat flow. Therefore the material does not exhibit auto-flammable/pyrophoric behaviour, both at room temperature and at elevated temperatures.up to its sublimation point, in the presence of air.
