Description of key information

Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was exposed to seven concentrations of Spectrace ™ MD-810 Marker (Solvent Free) and evaluated for effects on cell density, growth rate and yield. Cell density and yield were the most sensitive endpoint, as defined by the lowest 96-hour EC50 values of 4.6 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
4.6 mg/L

Additional information

Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was exposed to seven concentrations of Spectrace ™ MD-810

Marker (Solvent Free) and evaluated for effects on cell density, growth rate and yield. Cell density and

yield were the most sensitive endpoint, as defined by the lowest 96-hour EC50 values of 4.6 mg/L, with

the 95% confidence intervals of 3.9 to 5.5 mg/L. The 72-hour NOECs, based on cell density, growth rate

and yield were 0.024, 0.27 and 0.024 mg/L, respectively. The 96-hour NOECs for cell density, growth

rate and yield were 0.90, 0.90 and 0.90 mg/L, respectively.
