Description of key information

‘Reaction product of 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate and Benzenesulfonic acid, C10-13-sec-alkyl derivatives’ is a brown liquid, with a pour point of 3 °C. The test item decomposed before boiling from approximately 195 °C. It has a relative density of 1.03 at 20 °C, a vapour pressure of 0.0142 Pa at 25 °C and a log10Pow >6.5. As this substance is a liquid, particle size distribution is not applicable. The aqueous solubility of this substance is dependent on the loading rate: at a nominal loading rate of 0.1 g/L, the aqueous solubility was measured to be 0.0585 g/L and at a nominal loading rate of 1.0 g/L, the aqueous solubility was measured to be 0.409 g/L.

The aqueous surface tension was measured to be 35.4 mN/m (90% saturated solution) at 20.4 °C, the flash point was 155 °C and auto-ignition temperature was measured to be 320 °C. The substance is predicted not to be classified for explosivity, oxidising properties or under any other physicochemical CLP endpoint.
