other: No self-ignition temperature of the test item was observed up to 400°C.

At the start of the test, the test item was a colourless deliquescent crystalline solid.

At the end of the test, the cube was nearly empty; only a small part (some traces) of the test item remained. The solubilisation of the test item in its hydration water was observed between 82.0 °C and 95.5 °C (study report No. 14-918035-015). During the present study, the test item had thus liquefied and fallen in the small dish downside. At approximately 370 °C, the test item began to decompose into rare-earth oxynitrate.

Conclusions:
No self-ignition temperature of the substance was observed up to 400°C (corrected value).

The self-ignition temperature of gadolinium trinitrate was investigated according to the EU A.16 method in compliance with GLP. No self-ignition temperature was observed up to 400°C (corrected value).
