Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Chlorphenesin is non-toxic to aquatic species at three trophic levels: fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae, as demonstrated by the results below.

 - LC50 96 h fish > 100 mg/l: data obtained by read-across with similar substances (see read-across justification in section 13 of this IULCID dossier) and confirmed by predicted values for Chlorphenesin.

 - EC50 48h Daphnia Magna > 100 mg/l (nominal concentration): experimental data obtained testing Chlorphenesin according to OECD TG 202.

 - EC50 growth rate 72h Desmodesmus subspicatus  > 100 mg/l (nominal concentration): experimental data obtained testing Chlorphenesin according to OECD TG 201.

Moreover, Chlorphenesin was tested for activated sludge respiration inhibition according to OECD TG 209 and EC50 = 713 mg/l (nominal concentration) was the result of this test.
