Additional information

The acute oral toxicity of Silica-Zirkonia Filler was assessed in female Wistar rats according to OECD Guideline 423 (Acute Toxic Class Method). Two subsequent groups of 3 animals received oral doses of 2000 mg/kg body weight by oral gavage. Hunched posture and/or piloerection were noted for all animals on Day 1. No mortality occurred and no abnormalities were found at macroscopic post mortem examination of the animals. According to the OECD 423 test guideline, the LD50 cut-off value was considered to exceed 5000 mg/kg bw.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification is warranted according to DSD (67/548/EEC) and CLP (1272/2008/EC), respectively.
